Extended Monaco's FlashLearn AI and Digital FlashUp give Monaco businesses free, practical AI upskilling in 2026. Here's how to use it well.
Monaco's government is putting artificial intelligence at the centre of its business support programme for 2026 — and most of it is free. Through the Extended Monaco for Businesses (EME) initiative, the Principality is rolling out FlashLearn AI, a self-paced e-learning pathway, alongside its established Digital FlashUp sessions and a new "AI Opportunity" questionnaire. If you run a company in Monaco, this is publicly funded upskilling you're entitled to. The question is how to turn it into something that actually changes how you work.
What Extended Monaco is offering in 2026
Extended Monaco for Businesses is the Princely Government's programme to help local companies adopt digital tools and stay competitive. It's managed by the Digital Economy unit within the Directorate of Digital Services, and resources are published on eme.gouv.mc.
For 2026, the programme has committed a significant share of its activity to integrating AI into everyday professional practice. Three pieces matter most:
- Digital FlashUp — 45-minute sessions led by local experts, on concrete digital topics, delivered in a pragmatic and immediately applicable way. Sessions run bi-monthly through 2026 and cover AI, cybersecurity, e-commerce and digital optimisation.
- FlashLearn AI — a new e-learning pathway that lets your team build AI skills at their own pace, organised into short, thematic modules.
- The "AI Opportunity" questionnaire — a rapid diagnostic to help you identify where AI could genuinely add value in your specific business.
Because the sessions and modules respond to needs expressed by participants, the content is grounded in what Monaco businesses actually face, not generic global material.
Start with the "AI Opportunity" questionnaire
The most common mistake with AI is adopting a tool because it's fashionable, then looking for a problem it might solve. The questionnaire inverts that. It's a short diagnostic designed to surface where AI is likely to pay off in your operation — customer service, admin, content, analysis — before you spend a euro or an hour of training.
Treat its output as a shortlist, not a verdict. If it flags customer response times or repetitive back-office tasks, those are your first candidates. Pick one, and let it guide which FlashLearn modules and FlashUp sessions your team prioritises. Focus beats breadth every time with a small team.
Use FlashLearn AI to build a real skill, not just awareness
Self-paced e-learning has one well-known failure mode: people enrol, watch two modules, and drift away. Avoid it by treating FlashLearn AI as a project with an outcome, not a library to browse.
Pick one workflow you want to improve — say, drafting client proposals or triaging inbound enquiries. Have the relevant person complete the modules that touch it, then immediately apply what they learned to that real task. Skills stick when they're used within days, not stored for later. One person who genuinely automates a weekly task is worth more than five who finished a course and changed nothing.
Attend Digital FlashUp for the topics you can't self-teach
The live 45-minute sessions are where the AI theme meets the awkward Monaco-specific questions — the ones generic tutorials skip. Cybersecurity, e-commerce and data handling all carry local nuance. Monaco is not an EU member state and has its own data-protection framework under Law No. 1.565 of 3 December 2024, overseen by the APDP.
